Manufactured from Chrome Moly steel for improved shaft strength. Special collar design allows the intermediate shaft to snap onto the oil pump drive shaft while still allowing for mis-alignment of pump drive shaft to the distributor drive shaft caused by tolerance stack-up within the engine.
