CLEAR ANODIZED MIGHTY PRIMER
Kit includes Primer Pump, Check Valves, Fittings and all Mounting Hardware
Part Number: CV1000-6
This priming system installs on the vehicle and will suck oil out of the oil pan or a dry sump tank through a #10 hose. A fitting needs to be welded on the oil pan about one inch up from the deepest part of the bottom of the oil pan. It's not recommended to be closer we want to suck up cleaner oil from above the bottom of the pan. On a dry sump tank the fitting can be higher up around four inches or more from the tank bottom.
How this system works while using a see through oil filter is the oil will be sucked out of the oil pan or tank through the #10 inlet fitting (on the side) of the primer pump than through the one way check valve (on the bottom of the primer pump) through a #8 line and into the top of the see through oil filter assembly. The one way check valve prevents oil from feeding back through the primer when the engine is running.
To prime engine turn priming pump clockwise with a cordless battery drill with a 5/16" socket until the oil pressure gauge shows pressure. It should go up to 50 or more pounds. More than enough to prime the oil system and pre oil the top end of the engine. No more dry start ups!
Kit includes: Mighty Prime priming pump, one way #8 check valve, #10 ORB to #10 AN inlet fitting, #12 ORB to #8 AN fitting for filter inlet fitting, priming pump 5/16" mounting studs, washers, and Ny-loc nuts, 6" mounting bracket, four 3/8" x 1" long Allen bolts to mount bracket to filter use loc tight on these four bolts.
Important Information:
The priming pump has two 1/16" pipe plugs located on the top. These plugs are to pre oil the priming pump when it is first installed or has been drained completely of oil. For initial prime, remove both plugs and use a oil can to put 4 or 5 squirts of oil in both plug holes. May have to turn hex drive slightly to move the gears to get oil down in the holes.
Warning! Do not run priming oil pump when motor is running the one way check valve will be closed when engine is running.
