When installing a new oil pump, it is recommended to upgrade your stock drive shaft. These heavy-duty oil pump driveshaft kits are larger in diameter than the OEM units. This enables the drive shaft to handle the added torque requirements of increased oil pump capacity or heavy-viscosity lubricants. These Aeroflow oil pump drive shafts are made from chrome moly 8740 for maximum strength and durability. They are coated in a black oxide finish for protection and long-lasting durability.

Important Information:
When installing this oil pump drive shaft, always check for clearance to the cylinder block. Minimum clearance should be 0.050". Also check to make sure that there is 0.008" to 0.010" minimum shaft end play between the distributor and oil pump. there should be no binding between the oil pump drive shaft, distributor and oil pump.
