AF91-9002 - 1" 1 METER HEAT BRAID SLEEVE

1" (25.4mm) I.D Suit Hose -6, -8, -10, -12, 1m (3ft)

Part Number: AF91-9002

Aeroflow’s braided sleeve is lightweight and extremely flexible. It is braided from fiberglass yarns and coated with high temperature resins. It can be used for insulating wire bundles or cables as well protecting against damage caused by abrasion from sharp edges, high impacts and vibration. With a tough woven construction, this braided heat sleeve withstands up to 500°C (932°F) and splashes of 1100°C (2000°F).
It is not recommended for direct contact with any heat source.

It is recommended for a tight fit choose a braided sleeve diameter that is a smaller size than required for your application. For a more flexible/loose fit select a braided sleeve diameter that is the same size or slightly larger than your application, this will ensure that the cables are able to smoothly and easily move.

If the braided sleeve is not cut correctly it can fray. To prevent fraying use a hot cutting tool such as a hot knife or a soldering iron with a sharp tip. Slice the braid using even pressure to leave an evenly sealed edge on the braid. While the end is cooling you can flare it using a small cone-shaped object to hold it open. Once the braid sleeve is cut to size simply push and slide the sleeve into place over the cable and finish it off with either heat shrink or Aeroflow hose end finishers for that professional look.
