The 55-57 Chevy came factory equipped with a 6 cyl or V-8. The V-8 oem radiator application mounted the radiator on the engine side of the radiator core support while the 6 Cyl application mounted on the grill side of the radiator support. For maximum clearance, AFCO built the 55-57 radiator and fan shroud combination to mount in the 6 Cyl. position regardless of engine choice. The 55-57 radiator can be mounted in the V-8 position, however, modifications to the OEM radiator core support may be necessary.
